MAULUD: Gov Bala Warns on Utterances to Destroy Peace During Celebrations

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has  warnes members of the public or any group of persons found to be engaged in actions or utterances capable of breaching the peace under any guise will be decisively dealt with according to the law.

This was contained in a press statement on the occasion of 2025 Eid-El-Maulud signed by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Mukhtar M Gidado andade available to Journalist.

The celebration of Eid-el-Maulud is seen as a chance to strengthen bonds of brotherhood, promote unity, and foster peaceful coexistence within our dear state and nation. This tradition is rooted in the history of our noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW), who preached peace, harmony, patience, humility, and love for one another during his lifetime. 

These values are essential for making our society a better place to live in. The need for introspection and sober reflection to look back at how well we have related with our Creator and fellow human beings cannot be overemphasized, especially at this blessed time.

"I would like to use the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud to appeal to the good people of Bauchi State to continue living in peace and harmony with one another, irrespective of their ethnic, religious, or political differences. We should all offer special prayers for peace and tranquility in our state, in particular, and the nation, in general, in the face of the current security challenges in the country"

The governor says the recent inauguration of a peace committee has been informed by recent politically motivated unrest under the guise of farmer-herder conflicts in the two local governments. I would like to appeal for your continued support and cooperation to sustain and improve on the existing peace in the state. 

The government acknowledges the plight of the people across the state arising from happenings within the macroeconomic landscape. While I appeal for your continued patience and resilience, I want to assure you of the government's determination to continue taking measures to address the situation and provide relief to the people.

"Let me use this occasion to reiterate the unwavering commitment of the government to maintaining law and order. The government, in collaboration with security agencies, has taken all measures to ensure the safety of lives and property of the people of the state"

"As a practical demonstration of this commitment, an interfaith committee comprising Muslim Ulamas and Christian clergies has recently been constituted to sensitize the people of Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa local government areas on the need for them to live in peace with one another, irrespective of their ethnic, religious, or political differences"
