Bala Insists on Justice in Recruitment Exercise, Cautions Stakeholders to Ensure Transparent Manner
By Adamu IMAM, Bauchi
In his effort to ensure a transparent recruitment exercise of 10,000 workers across Bauchi state, the state governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has reaffirmed his position on equity, justice, and fairness.
The governor, speaking at a crucial stakeholders' meeting on the matter held at the old banquet hall, Government House, Bauchi, on Friday, said the meeting was designed to protect the interests of all citizens, not only individuals who are currently holding positions in the state government.
Bala disclosed that the Head of Service had identified 214 job categories with 5,669 vacancies ready to be filled across various ministries, departments, and agencies. He stressed that only a transparent and collectively-owned process can guarantee fairness for young graduates and ordinary citizens who lack political connections.
He assured that the remaining positions would be completed next year.
The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Aminu Hammayo, said the engagement reflects the governor's commitment to inclusive governance, noting that representatives from all 20 LGAs were invited to shape guidelines, which the governor could have set alone.
The recruitment portal, earlier created by the state ICT Bureau, had attracted wide applications, signaling strong public interest in what the government hopes will be its most transparent hiring exercise.
