Taraba Killings Probe: Fulani Groups Demand Inclusion, Fair Media Reportage.

The Coalition of Fulani Associations in Taraba State has called on Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas to include representatives of the Fulani ethnic group in the commission of inquiry established to investigate the recent communal violence in Karim-Lamido Local Government Area. The coalition claims that Fulani communities suffered significant human and material losses during the conflict and that their exclusion from the probe panel is unjust.

In a statement signed by Aishatu Ardo, the coalition expressed concerns about the composition of the commission, stating that it is "unfair and unbalanced" to exclude Fulani representatives. They recommended including members from Fulani socio-cultural organizations, such as FUDECO, MACBAN, Tabital Pulaaku Jonde Jam, and Dandalin Makiyaya.

The coalition also criticized the media for largely ignoring the plight of Fulani kinsmen in its coverage of the conflict, calling for balanced and fair reportage. Despite these concerns, they commended Governor Kefas for his commitment to peace and inclusivity, citing his response to last year's Gomu-Fulani clashes and the state's free livestock vaccination program.

The coalition's demands highlight the need for inclusive and representative investigations into communal conflicts, ensuring that all affected groups have a voice and are treated fairly.
