SECURITY: GOC Directs Officers to Rethink, Recharge, Respond

The General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army/Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (GOC/Comd OPSH), Major General Eyitayo Oyinlola has charged junior cadre officers to take a wake-up call to tackle security issues in the country head on.
The GOC made this call during the opening ceremony of a four-day training session for the junior commander's and tactical commander's on operational levels officers cadre during the opening ceremony of 3 Division Operation Planning Cadre 2025 at 33 Artillery Shadawanka Barracks in Bauchi, where he urged them to utilize the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge in tackling security challenges.
Ably represented by the Commandant of the Nigerian Army Armour School (NAAS), Major General Abubakar Ahmed, he noted that the training would equip and enhance the officers effectiveness and to acquire new technology in combating crimes and criminality.
According to the GOC, the security challenges facing the nation require a collective effort and a high level of vigilance from all security operatives. He emphasized the need for officers Cadre to be proactive and innovative in addressing security issues, leveraging on their training and experience to stay ahead of threats.
He added that the training is designed to enhance interagency cooperation and collaboration with sister security agencies, as they currently face asymmetric warfare where the enemy is hard to identify. And optimistic that the training would improve daily activities conducted to counter evolving security challenges and provide a platform for discussing new challenges and ideas.
The GOC called on participants to utilize the golden opportunity provided by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, to gain more knowledge from experienced resource persons during the four-day training.
In his Goodwill message, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Army for choosing Bauchi to host the event and assured his administration's support to all security agencies in the state.
Represented by the Honorable Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Ibrahim Gambo Galadima, he noted that the good synergy between the Bauchi State Government and the Nigerian Army is a testament to the governor's passion for security issues.
The Emir of Bauchi Dr Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, represented by a Dan Buran Bauchi assured of traditional leaders to Nigerian Army in achieving it's fighting against insecurity in the state.
Our correspondent reports that the 3 Division Operations Planning Cadre 2025 training gathered junior commanders cadre officers across various security agencies compromising of Nigerian Army, Air Force, Police, DSS, Civil Defence, Customs, immigration, Correctional Service, Fire Service among others with the theme "Leadership Capacity Building A Panacea for Operational Effectiveness.
Highlights of the opening ceremony included commissioning of the newly remodeled Quarter Guard by the representative of the GOC/Comd OPSH, the renovated Squash Court by the representative of Bauchi State Governor and the presentation of souvenirs to dignitaries who grace the occasion.
