HAJJ 2024: Bauchi Amirul-Hajj Team, Concerned Over Exorbitant Charges

Bauchi state Amirul Hajj committee expressed concerned over the exorbitant charges incurred by pilgrims during Hajj exercise says they are working with National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON to ensure the state contingents take advantage of the most efficient financial transactions from the state to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The committee held a meeting with officials from the State Pilgrims Welfare Board explained they to ensure the state's intending pilgrims are allow to use Nigerian currency for the purchase of Hadya sacrificial animals.

Chairman of Publicity sub-committee  Alhaji Yayanuwa Zainabari while speaking with journalists shortly after the meeting emphasized that the move would reduce the cost of animals for sacrifice during the exercise 

According to him if Nigerian currency is going to use for the payment, a pilgrim is expected to pay less than 650 Saudi Riyal as against over 750 Riyal which he described as exorbitant. 

Zainabari noted that during the meeting, the committee also discussed on issues to restrengthening arrangements made for accomodations, feeding and general welfare of the pilgrims.

On the issue of Visa, the chairman publicity sub-committee said already the Board has announced the receipt of approvals of some requests earlier sent to Saudi Authorities.

He commended Governor Bala Mohammed, and the state Pilgrims Welfare Board and members of the team for their determination towards ensuring success during Hajj operation exercise
