UNICEF Ambassador Henshaw Encouraged Women, Children on Routine Immunization in Bauchi

Women in Nigeria have been urged to continue bring out their children to fully immunize with vaccine as 1000 days of a baby is critical for survival 

Maternal and Child Health (MNCH) UNICEF Ambassador a popular actress Ms.Kate Henshaw stated this in Bauchi during an interactive session with journalists on the importance of a life of a baby for economic growth

A famous Nigeria Nollywood actress double as UNICEF Ambassador has called on key stakeholders in the health care sector to collaborate and bring about improved service delivery to mothers and to encourage maternal new child health MNCH in Bauchi state and the country at large. 

While assessing the immunization coverage during a visit to some primary health care centers PHCs in Dass local government area of the state Henshaw  said that though significant number of women were seen with their children for immunization, but more needs to be done by stakeholders to ensure improvement in the current number of women and children on healthcare services delivery

Also she exited with the response by the people in the area for showing signs of acceptance of the routine immunization on like before where people hardly accept especially in the rural communities

Henshaw maintained that language barrier could not be a problem to interact with beneficiaries of the immunization because according to her technology and translators has simplify mostly the work of of such advocacy to many people around the world, so that won't be a problem in that regard

Earlier during the session, Dr.Tursha Rene, thanked the media in the state for supporting initiatives that geared towards improvement of children and women nutrition

He said milestones recorded in the implementation of such initiatives couldn't have been possible without the support of media Practitioners, who used different platforms to sustain the tempo on maternal and child health in the state 

The Communication, UNICEF Nigeria Mr. Rajat Madhok, said that the idea behind using celebrities for advocacy is of the enormous influence they have on the generality of the people and earned so much respect on social issues
