Bauchi SWAN Lauds Gov's Vision Towards Sports Development

Bauchi State Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has lauded present administration's vision towards sports development throughout the state
The statement was contained in a communique issued by the Secretary of the association Bala Bawaji Konkiyal at the end of the congress, held at the NUJ Secretariat conference hall,recently
The sports writers also commended the State Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Muhammad Salis Gamawa for his efforts in ensuring that the state government would bring back the lost glory in sport activities that known Bauchi for across the country
The Association stressed that presently, the Commissioner is in Europe for an official assignment to arrange ‘The Bauchi State Festival’ later this year.
The Congress then constituted amd ratified the 3-member Committee to conduct its forthcoming state election scheduled for April this year.
Moreso, the Communique revealed that the three man committee presented are Ishola Michael Adeyemi, Assistant Northern Bureau Chief of Nigerian Tribune Newspapers, Kabiru Ahmed Ilelah of BATV and Kabiru Abubakar of FRCN Globe fm Bauchi were selected as members of the electoral committee.
The Congress also called on all it members to always avail themselves and interest in many sports activities and reporting as such across the state rather than focusing on football alone.
The Congress however, advice the executive members of the Association to intimate the state Ministry of Education on developing and organising Schools Sports as a way of encouraging younger ones and talent hunt
State swan further, called for unity among members of the Sports Writers in the state stating that it is only through unity that development will be achieved.
Therefore Congress then pleaged its total support to the National Executive Committee (NEC) led by Mr Isaiah Benjamin.
