Bauchi state ministry of education has dissolved food monitors and feeding committee responsible for the provision of qualitative and quantitative food for boarding schools across the state
They made the announcement in a press statement signed by the information officer of the ministry made available to newsmen recently in the state
However, the management of the ministry also noted that the quality of food being supply has been declined which necessitated the decision
The statement further maintained, "the decisive action stems from a noticeable decline in their efficacy in ensuring the consistent quality and quantity of meals provided to our students,
as such we are taking immediate steps to reassess and restructure our approach to enhance the quality and accountability of food provision in our boarding schools"
The ministry added that, "we understand the importance of nutrition on the overall well-being and academic performance of our students"
Also "we reaffirms unwavering commitment to ensuring that every student receives quality meals that requires standard of health and nutrition"
Meanwhile, according to the ministry further details regarding the new frame work for boarding schools and food supply, and monitoring will be communicated in due course
