BASA: AOC task officers and men on tolerance, respect for others

Air Vice Marshall (AVM) Eneobong Effiom,  Air Officer Commanding (AOC)  Special Operations Command (SOC) Bauchi has tasked Nigerian Air Force (NAF) officers and men tolerance, respect for other people's culture, unity in diversity

Effiom made the call at the annual Socio-cultural Activities (BASA), held at NAF Base on Saturday in Bauchi

He employs the personnel to maintain respect for each other's culture and tradition for the unity of the country.

"Working together as one entity enhance peace, unity and stability among the citizens," he said 

AOC Effiom, represented by his Chief of Staff, AVM Razak Olarewaju explained that  BASA is an annual activity that brings soldiers together to participate in their local cultural activities.

“It is the avenue to showcase diverse cultures of the base communities across the country and to appreciate hard work and gallantry of individual soldiers during the year

"It also promotes civil military relationships with members of host communities.

He said that haven worked throughout the year, it was important to organise the event to socialise with one another.

The AOC commended officers and Airmen/women of the Command for their service and hard work from beginning to the end of the year.

In a remark, Alhaji Ahmed Chiroma, Special Adviser to Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, who is  a special guest of honor at the Base urged the personnel to remain steadfast in their responsibilities.

He commended the NAF for organising BASA for personnel that worked within and outside the base with their families to eat, dance and socialise in the base.

Chiroma assured that the State Government would continue to support and collaborate with NAF on promotion of security and peace in the state and the country at large.

Highlight  of the activities include  cultural dance by the three major tribes in the country , NYSC members drama 

"Tug of war between women corpers and airwomen  and airmen and troops from 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi and presentation of awards.
