2024 ARM FORCES DAY: Ex-Service Men, Widows, Request Tinubu To Prioritize Welfare Issues

Retired Soldiers and widows of fallen heroes have re-appealed to the federal government to address the plight of families of fallen heroes who sacrificed their life for the unity of the nation
They made the appeal shortly after this year's armed forces Remembrance Day celebration held at IBB Square in Bauchi.
Anatare report that this year's celebration was colourful with dignitaries in attendance across the state
The 2024 armed forces Remembrance was concluded with special prayers for the country to remain in peace and harmony, special prayers were also observed for the departed souls who fought and lost their lives during the Nigerian civil war
And also prayers was conducted for the good health of those who are still alive, while three gun salute was followed in honor of the departed souls.
Meanwhile, shortly after the celebration some of the ex-service men lamented the slow pace in meeting their demands by the federal government, and requested President Tinubu to redouble effort in addressing the plight of old soldiers men and the widows of those who fought and departed as well
Retired Sargent Abdulkadir INUWA and YAKUBU Bakawu ex-service military personnel expressed dissatisfaction for what they described as neglect
Members of the Military widows association Yakubu Fatimah and Amina Dahiru shared their life experiences after the demise of their husbands at the battle field,
Adding that, they don't have capital to go into business that the government to have a rethink on the plight of the windows after their husbands left them unceremoniously
Highlights of the celebration was a medical outreach for vulnerable groups, and the release of white pigeons symbolizing peace and tranquility
