Why the Gang-up Against Sen. Barau?
The parliament of owls that don't fly out of their nests during the day except at the dead of night when nobody will attack them for the unpardonable offences they had once committed are out of sheer envy hell-bent on garroting Senator Barau Jibrin politically.
Lest it slips the memory of my reader, both, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and Murtala Sule Garo who flied the APC's gubernatorial ticket in Kano as gubernatorial candidate and deputy gubernatorial running mate were once booed and almost stripped naked for electoral fraud.
Of all the politicians appointed or elected under the aegis of the APC from the Kano North senatorial district currently fighting Senator Barau Jibrin tooth and nail, none can beat his chest to say he did not basked in the glory of Senator Barau Jibrin to win or retain his seat in 2023 when the Kwankwasiyya political gale blew harshly in Kano and nearly consumed the whole of APC structures in Kano.
Had the APC wickedly denied Senator Barau Jibrin his senatorial ticket as was the primal plan in 2023, the ship with the entire members of the APC in Kano on board would have capsized in the middle of the ocean.
As a keen observer, I thought the Kano State wing of the APC was taught a lesson during the last election not to dare toy with Senator Barau if they are serious about their dream to reclaim Kano in 2027 because it has manifested itself that had Senator Barau Jibrin been fielded as the party's gubernatorial candidate in 2023, APC wouldn't have lost the election owing largely to his ever-growing popularity in every nook and cranny of Kano State.
Should Senator Barau Jibrin considers jettisoning the APC for another political party, there will be no hope for APC to win any seat in Kano.
Whether these people ganging up against Senator Barau Jibrin will agree with me or not, Barau remains one of the strong pillars that the party is standing on not only in Kano but in northern Nigeria as a whole.
And if you closely look at these people unnecessarily bearing grudges against Senator Barau Jibrin, they are a bunch of people who have horrendous skeletons in their cupboards and cannot be taken in exchange for a dime in a decent society like Kano.
