SENATOR BARAU I. JIBRIN: A FORMIDABLE POLITICAL FORCE AND THE MESSIAH OF THE APC IN KANO
I am contemplating writing an imprecatory prayers against the enemies of Senator Barau I. Jibrin to make the political empire he has been building over the years unimpregnable one by his political foes and adversaries both from within and outside the party he enormously contributed to build having been a card-carrying member of the defunct ANPP which happens to be one of the three major merging/legacy parties that relinquished their certificates to form the APC.
We know some of the a dime a dozen politicians from Kano who pay some chicken-feed amount of money to some political mendicants and foreigners suffering from an acute mythomania to concoct lies against Senator Barau I. Jibrin with the aim deflating his ever-growing political popularity in Kano.
But as God would have it, the reverse has always been the case as more people who love Kano wholeheartedly are pitching their political tents with Senator Barau Jibrin in their thousands.
It isn't a cock and bull story that the Kano-born political heavyweight and an international business mogul Senator Barau I. Jibrin has throughout his life been uplifting/propping up thousands of people in Kano to attain high social statuses in both the business circle and in politics.
Being a small-scale business man born and bred in Kano and I can tell you a large number of people in Kano who were trained and given start up capital by Senator Barau Jibrin in the following markets Kwari market, Sabon Gari market, Singer market, Wambai market, Kurmi market, Dawanau market and lots more and most of them are now employing and graduating others which makes the alarming rate of unemployment and political thuggery in Kano to rapidly plummet down.
In politics, Barau has graduated several local politicians in Kano from parish pump politics to national politics by securing plum appointative offices for them at the federal level and is willing to do more anytime the opportunity presents itself.
As a business mogul, Senator Barau has been a philanthropist and generous person whose generosity knows no bounds even long before he was elected member of the federal parliament in 1999 at the return of democracy after a very long period of gang rape on democracy by the successive military governments and their scapegoats.
I can tell you with aplomb that no politician in the North has trained, employed and promoted more youths than Senator Barau Jibrin.
That is why if the APC is lucky enough to press gang Senator Barau Jibrin to pick its gubernatorial ticket in 2027, it won't be a rocket-science or a herculean task for the party to reclaim Kano.
In Kano today, if you hear anybody saying anything negative about Senator Barau Jibrin he or she must either be a settler in Kano, an enemy from within or a member of the ruling party in Kano, though are thousands of progressive minds in the ruling party in Kano who will rather cast their votes for Senator Barau to the detriment of whoever is the candidate to be fielded by their party having been convinced that Barau has developmental plans for as a city and means well for the good people of Kano State irrespective of their political affiliations.
