Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bauchi City has opened a new chapter with the election of JCIN Member Aisha Adam Bappa as President for the year 2026. The election, which held recently at Block A, Reinsurance House, Ahmadu Bello Way, Bauchi, was marked by joy, reflection and optimism as members celebrated leadership, democratic values, and the promise of greater impact.

In his opening remarks, 2025 Local Organisation President, JCIN Amb. Akintunde Tajudeen Taiwo, welcomed members and guests, commending their dedication to the ideals of JCI. He described the Annual General Meeting as “a time to reflect on our achievements, renew our commitments and shape the future of our organisation.”

He urged members to uphold the spirit of service, inclusiveness and innovation that has driven JCI Bauchi City’s success.

Amb. Akintunde also expressed profound gratitude to the 2025 Nominations Committee for their professionalism and fairness in conducting the electoral process. “Today we celebrate not just a new President but the process that brought her forth,” he said.

“Our Nominations Committee has demonstrated what transparency, credibility and inclusiveness mean in practice. Your work has laid a strong foundation for a successful and impactful 2026.”

Chairman of the Nominations Committee, JCIN Member Bulus M. Nyazison, noted that the team’s priority was to uphold integrity. “We ensured that every step was fair, open and guided by JCI’s values,” he explained. “The members placed their trust in us, and we are proud to have delivered an election that truly reflects their will.” Former President and Committee Member JCIN Member Clement David (2022 President) also praised the unity displayed during the exercise, saying: “This election showed that when we work together, our organisation is stronger. We are handing over to a leader who has the passion and capacity to build on our legacy.”

In her acceptance remarks, President-elect Aisha Adam Bappa described her election as “a profound source of inspiration and motivation” and pledged to serve with humility and dedication.

“As we embrace this new chapter, my commitment is simple yet profound: to work hand-in-hand with every one of you in advancing the mission and vision of JCI — to create positive change in ourselves, our community, and beyond,” she said.
“Together, we will build on our successes, rise to challenges with courage, and seize new opportunities to serve and lead with impact.

This honour is not mine alone — it belongs to all of us.” She also extended heartfelt appreciation to past leaders, colleagues, mentors and friends who have supported her journey, noting that their belief in her “means more than words can capture.”

Adding to the credibility of the process, JCIN Amb. Rahmat Suleiman, 2025 JCI ASO Treasurer, honoured JCI Bauchi City with her presence as an observer during the election. “It was inspiring to witness how JCI Bauchi City handled this election with openness and maturity,” Amb. Rahmat remarked. “This is a model of how young leaders can practise democracy and good governance at the local level.”

In his closing remarks and vote of thanks, Amb. Akintunde congratulated the President-elect and the newly elected executives, and appreciated members, guests and observers for their support. He reaffirmed JCI Bauchi City’s commitment to excellence and impactful service. “Our chapter is poised for even greater achievements in 2026 and beyond,” he concluded.

With new leadership, renewed energy and strengthened democratic traditions, JCI Bauchi City is set to continue its legacy of excellence and service to the community in 2026 and the years ahead.
