Katsina United End Four-Year Wait for Away Victory

Katsina United have finally broken their long away win drought in the Nigeria Premier Football League after defeating Plateau United 2-1 on Sunday in Jos.

The Chanji Boys, who had not recorded an away victory since June 2021, got off to a bright start when Sadiq Abubakar scored in the 12th minute. Uche Collins doubled the lead in the second half, before Gideon Monday pulled one back for Plateau United. The hosts pressed for an equaliser but Katsina stood firm to secure all three points.

Across other NPFL fixtures, Bayelsa United continued their perfect start with a 2-0 win against Barua FC, while Warri Wolves also made it two wins in two matches after beating Rangers International 2-0. Enyimba, Rivers United and Nasarawa United all claimed narrow 1-0 victories. Kano Pillars were held to a 1-1 draw by Wikki Tourists in Kano, while Ikorodu City and El-Kanemi Warriors played out a goalless draw in Lagos.

The NPFL season is only two weeks old, but the excitement is already building with big wins and surprises.
