By Adamu IMAM, Bauchi
According to a reliable source, the detained journalist, Nasir Hassan, of Iran Press Agency (IP), has been released on bail by the Abuja Magistrate Court, Wuse Zone 6, following intervention by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) national headquarters in Abuja.
It could be recalled that Nasir was apprehended by operatives of the Nigerian Police Force in Abuja last week during a Maulud procession conducted within the metropolis of the capital territory.
The effort of African Journalists Against Genocide (AJAG) through their writings and publications on the arrest, with the group's aim for the emancipation of professional journalists in the field across Africa and the world at large, also contributed to his release.
