Bauchi Senator Lift Farmers with Free Mass Animal Vaccination, Fertiliser Distribution

The Senator Representing Bauchi South Senatorial Districts,Senator Shehu Buba Umar has flag off  free mass animal vaccination at Gobbiya in Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State 

The flagged off of free mass vaccination for 85,000 domestic animals across his Bauchi South Senatorial District.was witnessed by traditional rulers, APC Stakeholders , lawmakers, political party leaders and representatives of herdsmen.

Speaking at the occasion ,Senator Buba said “This year, we will be vaccinating eighty five thousand livestock, 85,000 in this senatorial district,” 
He told the gathering, that about 40,000 livestock were vaccinated across the senatorial district during a similar exercise last year.

“I believe that this is one thing we owe our people both Farmers and herdsmen. They are Nigerians like all of us. They vote for us. They live with us. They also contribute very well to the economy of this country, Representation is a trust I did my best to ensure that I represent our people very well I always delivered what is due for them at the right time"

“This is not something special but I believe that it is something that we owe our herdsmen and farmers, tomorrow we will flagg off the distribution of fertiliser to farmers".

He said The free  vaccination exercise aimed at protecting the livestock farmers’ livelihood, enhance livestock productivity and resilience, and also to ensure livestock health and food security in the seven local government areas of the State.


Senator Buba said the event is not just a formal exercise, it is a strong signal of our shared commitment to protecting the health of our livestock, the safety of our communities, and the integrity of our economy.

“This campaign will be rolled out across all the seven local Government Areas of the Senatorial zones , targeting cattle, sheep and goats in each local government The teams of trained Veterinary officers and animal health technologists will work hand-in-hand with community leaders, livestock owners, and other stakeholders to ensure that this exercise is a success and they will spend two days in each local government they visit
.

He said “It is our hope that this little effort will go a long way in supporting our farmers and herders.

A Stakeholder in Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro Federal Constituency Alhaji Aminu Tukur urged livestock farmers in the senatorial district to bring out their animals for the vaccination
He said the people of Bogoro Local Government Area are farmers and herders.

Tukur called on the senator to built skills acquisition center in the area to reduce the rate of unemployed Youths and advised him to make a good follow up to ensure of completion of Federal road project initiated by former Speaker Yakubu Dogara.

Many herders who are the beneficiaries of the vaccination commended the commitment of Senator Buba towards improving animal health services, promoting responsible livestock production, and supporting our farmers through sound policies and interventions.”

They expressed their gratitude to the senator for providing the timely support.

Similarly ,Senator Shehu Buba Umar representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, has commenced  the distribution of  Seven trucks, of 4200 bags of NPK  fertiliser to farmers.
Goje flagged off the distribution of the commodity free of charge to people of his constituency in Bauchi today 

He said that the initiative was to support agricultural productivity and improve crop yields for local farmers.

The Senator said that the programme was aimed at empowering farmers within the Bauchi South Senatorial District to be able to minimise the challenges faced with food production and improve the quantity and quality of farm produce for the people in district.

“The impact of climate change and over cultivation of farm land has negatively affected the quality of the soil for farming. This has resulted in lower yield of crops produce. It is important to emphasise that I personally purchased the Seven Trucks of 4200 bags of fertilisers distributed today to empower our farmers and improve their yield, this is the third distribution and support to farmers” .

Senator Buba explained that the distribution of such a significant quantity of fertiliser demonstrated a substantial investment in the agricultural sector, reflecting a commitment to enhancing food security and supporting the livelihood of farmers to boost food production in the state

He thanked the distribution committee of the commodity and advised them to ensure equity and distribute the commodity to genuine farmers.

The beneficiaries include stakeholders at zonal, local governments, wards,  political units, religious leaders, women and youths’ groups, as well as farmers from across Seven  local government areas of the Bauchi South zone.

Many of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the senator for his intervention and assured that they will used the commodity judiciously in their farms to boost food Production.
