Bauchi APC Gov'ship Contenders Tasked to Uphold Unity to Win Election Come 2027

Bauchi state contenders for the governorship seat under the platform of the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) have been tasked to focus more on unity among themselves rather than individual interests for the party to win elections come 2027.

The acting chairman of the state APC Credibility Forum, Honourable Dan'Umma Bello, made the disclosure in Bauchi shortly after an emergency meeting held recently ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Honourable Dan'Umma Bello said it's time to hold a strategic meeting as part of preparations to win the governorship election in Bauchi state, looking at the strength and capacity the APC is enjoying throughout the state. 

He further maintained that hence the need for all stakeholders concerned within the All Progressive Congress APC family to discuss the way forward towards a credible and dogged candidate that can be presented and win the governorship election in the state come 2027.

Adding that APC has a credible and all-inclusive five aspirants as it stands now, but the aim of the forum is what matters most for the party to clinch the seat of the governor through the ballot box. 

According to him, APC is the widely acceptable political party throughout Bauchi state, hence the need to come together and put the house in order, noting that without unity and sincerity of purpose, no one would achieve the desired objective of the party at all levels.

Noting that the APC credibility forum has so far achieved a certain level of commitment by its members and other key party stakeholders, he said all representatives of the five contenders were present during the meeting and all of them agreed on the agenda and issues tabled before them to champion the movement for a credible candidate.

Bello affirmed that all five contenders were represented during the meeting, among them were the representatives of the Coordinating Minister of Health, Prof. Ali Pate, Alhaji Bala Hadis; Senator Shehu Buba Umar, Alhaji Muhammadu Sade; Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, Alhaji Dauda Shehu Mohammed; former Bauchi state governor M.A Abubakar, Ibrahim Abdullahi Bauchi; as well as Honourable Gazali Abubakar Wunti, representing Alhaji Nura Manu Soro.

He further maintained that the representatives of the contenders also presented their unity forum with the similar motive to develop the state under the platform of All Progressive Congress APC at the state level and beyond.

He concluded that some key stakeholders of the party at the state level were in attendance during the meeting and urged them to respect all opinions toward the successful outing of the party in the state.
