The Northern Region of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Nigeria has officially announced the opening of registration for its highly anticipated 2025 Northern Conference, themed Daukaka Arewa — a powerful Hausa phrase meaning “Elevate the North.” The conference is scheduled to hold from 7th to 10th August 2025 at Davina Hotel and Resorts, Gwarinpa, Abuja.

According to the Conference Chairpersons, the 2025 edition aims to empower young leaders with practical skills, strategic insight, and the tools needed to create sustainable change within their communities. With the theme, “Elevate North: Empowering Leaders, Enhancing Communities,” the conference reaffirms a strong commitment to grassroots development through innovation, collaboration, and inclusive leadership.

Speaking at the announcement, Executive Vice Presidents Adewale Oshinaike (North-East) and Ayodeji Akinwande (North-West) emphasized the vital role of youth and regional unity in driving solutions to socio-economic challenges across Northern Nigeria.
“This is more than a conference,” EVP Adewale shared. “It’s a rallying point for transformational leadership across our communities.”
EVP Ayodeji added that the newly unveiled logo — inspired by Abuja’s City Gate and Aso Rock — symbolizes strength, vision, and collective progress. “This year’s conference is designed to move participants from conversations to impactful action,” he said.

JCIN Amb. Oluwatoyin Atanda, President of JCI Nigeria, also expressed her full support for the initiative, noting that it aligns seamlessly with the national ELV8 Agenda — Engagement, Leadership, and Values-driven growth anchored on 8 flagship projects. “This conference is a bold step toward building a Northern region that thrives through service, innovation, and leadership,” she remarked.

The host Local Organization, JCI Abuja Prestige, led by President Fatima Omowale Usman, is gearing up to welcome delegates with a dynamic mix of cultural hospitality and organizational excellence. “We’re excited to host changemakers from across the country and provide a space for learning, collaboration, and celebration of our rich culture,” she shared.

The four-day event will feature leadership training, entrepreneurship development, cultural showcases, impact-driven panel discussions, and high-level networking opportunities — all tailored to elevate young changemakers across the region.

Other notable stakeholders expected at the conference include JCI Senators, national officers, alumni leaders, and strategic partners committed to advancing active citizenship and sustainable impact.

Registration is now open to both members and non-members, with early sign-ups highly encouraged due to limited slots.

#DaukakaArewa is more than a theme: it’s a movement.
