We are Committed to Address Out of School Syndrome in the Northeast-Zone- NEDC

We are committed to reduce out of school children OOSC in the Northeast sub-region by construction of mega schools across the six states within the zone
Managing Director of the North-East Development Commission Mohammed Alkali, made the discloser during an oversight visit by the house of representative committee on NEDC at one of the mega schools built by the commission in Bauchi state
While talking to journalists at the site says the high number of out-of-school children in the North-East zone is currently alarming hence the need for NEDC’s intervention in the six states to address the syndrome
He said that the NEDC has so far built one Mega School in each of the senatorial districts in the six states of the region.
“If you’ve gone round and done some research, the level of out-of-school children, not only in Bauchi State but across the North-East is very alarming,
and to address the problem is through providing these kinds of facilities and that’s the reason we decided to build mega schools in the six states of the of the sub-region" Alkali maintained.
“ this project is over 80 percent completed in terms of the physical structure, but you know that we can’t build this kind of structure and leave it just like this, there’s going to be some finishing touches in terms of fittings, furniture, and so on".
The house of representative lead by chairman committee of NEDC also commended the commission for a job weldon, while debunked that what they saw is not what they have been told, that NEDC projects is lopsided in terms of execution, affirming that tha national assembly will always continue to collaborate with the commission's affairs in changing the narratives in the northeast region.
