150 Pupils Get School Kits, fee in Bauchi

Not less than 150 pupils of Birshi Gandu Primary School, Bauchi suburb have received writing materials, uniforms, school and parent-teacher association fees from the coalition of non-governmental organisations.
In its ‘Back to School’ project, the Child Is Gold Foundation has said it provided the items in collaboration with Kairos Initiative, Community Advocate for Rural Development, Imigan Hope Empowerment Initiative. Speaking yesterday, the Executive Director of Chid is Gold Foundation, Mrs Elizabeth George said that the Initiative observed that many of the pupils who have greater ambition were lacking necessary items to learn, hence the intervention.
George said that the assistance was to make sure that the pupils achieved their goals in learning. She explained that writing materials which include; packs of pencils, packs of books, sanders, uniforms and others were donated to the school.
Also, the foundation presented lectures on; the importance of education, care for self, bullying management and peace building.
One of the teachers, Amina Elijah commended the CIGF and others CSOs for selecting the as one of the benefiting schools. She commended the government for its intervention while urging for more to better the learning and teaching process.
