Bauchi Police Apprehends Narcotics Dealer, Recovers Exhibits Worth Over ₦12M

The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended Mr Ogbu Simon, a suspected narcotics dealer, and recovered 17,500 sachets of Tramadol along with 487 packages of Diazepam (D 5), commonly referred to as "Yellow Voice."

The suspect is alleged to supply narcotics from Onitsha. Anambra State to the Ningi Local Government Area and surrounding regions.

In response to this intelligence, a team of detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ningi, CSP Surajo Ibrahim Birnin Kudu, executed a strategic raid on the shop located within Ningi town. The operation resulted in the seizure of four bags containing suspected Diazepam (D 5) and Tramadol tablets.

The Commissioner of Police directed that the case be transferred to the Bauchi State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for thorough and discreet investigation.

Furthermore, the command assigned the Operation Restore Peace (ORP) unit to conduct an exhaustive investigation and to apprehend the suspect.

Under the leadership of CSP Abdulrazak Fada, the team successfully arrested the individual, who confessed to being a dealer supplying drugs to various markets within and outside Ningi.

According to statement, some of the exhibits recovered items includes seventeen thousand, five hundred (17,500) sachets of suspected Tramadol tablets (contained in polythene bags).
Four hundred and eighty- seven (487) packs of suspected D 5 Diazepam (Yellow Voice) (contained in sacks).

The estimated total value of the recovered narcotics is approximately Twelve Million, Two Hundred Thousand Naira (₦ 12,200,000.00).

The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani Omolori Aliyu, psc(+), mni, affirms his unwavering commitment to combating drug-related crimes. He urges the public to remain calm and continue cooperating with law enforcement authorities in the prevention, mitigation, and control of crime and criminality. The suspect along the exhibit will be officially handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Bauchi for further investigation and diligent prosecution accordingly.
