Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has reiterated that joint venture and partnership are key to maintaining growth and development for the benefit of the people, especially in critical sectors of the economy.
He stated this while granting an audience to the management of Shandong Minsheng Group, a Chinese mining and agricultural company, at Government House, Bauchi. The governor recalled that the 2023 agreement between Bauchi State and Shandong Province has opened new frontiers for effectiveness and enhanced economic diplomacy toward accelerating industrial growth and mining across the state.
He commended the group for adhering to timelines, promoting inclusivity, and engaging host communities, describing their approach as a clear departure from past mining practices that excluded locals and denied government revenue for many years.
Governor Bala Mohammed, who said the joint venture operates under Nigerian and Chinese laws with defined roles and timelines, praised the company for training local workers and engaging communities, demonstrating sincerity and long-term commitment to shared prosperity.
He assured investors of adequate security throughout their stay in all parts of the state, assuring that the government has instructed the host communities to safeguard the properties provided.
Earlier, Chairman of the group, Mr. Yu Tao, appreciated the state government for the partnership and affirmed the company's readiness to invest responsibly, create jobs, and ensure the joint venture delivers lasting value to Nigeria and China.
