Protecting Youth, Preserving Values: Bauchi Governor’s Aide Tasks Hoteliers

The Senior Special Assistant on Security to the Bauchi State Governor, Dr. Babayo Liman, has urged hoteliers in the state to collaborate with the Hisbah Command of the State Shari’ah Commission to sanitize the hospitality sector and promote responsible business practices.

Dr. Liman made the call at a stakeholders’ meeting organized by the Hisbah Command, where he raised concerns about the increasing trend of minors booking hotel rooms for parties, gala nights, and social media content creation.

He stressed that the government’s interest is not to stifle businesses, but to ensure that the hospitality industry contributes to protecting young people and preserving societal values.

“Bauchi State is built on moral and cultural values that shape responsible upbringing. We must work together to ensure our youth are not exposed to influences that could destroy their future,” Dr. Liman said.

He commended hotel owners for engaging in the dialogue and called for continuous partnerships that balance business growth with social responsibility.

Dr. Liman assured that while the government would support businesses to thrive in a safe environment, hotels found accommodating underaged guests or criminal elements would be dealt with in accordance with the law.

He concluded by appreciating Governor Bala Mohammed for creating an enabling atmosphere that allows both businesses and communities to flourish in a secure environment.
