ROAD TO NPFL: We Are on Course -- Coach Maikaba

As the countdown to the highly anticipated NNL Super Eight Playoff in Asaba, Delta State, begins, Wikki Tourists FC has stepped up preparations with renewed determination and a clear mission: a return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Following the successful conclusion of the regular season, in which the Tourists sealed their playoff qualification with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Zamfara United, the team has resumed intensive training and played some Grade A friendly matches under the watchful eyes of Technical Adviser, Coach Abdu Maikaba.

Coach Maikaba, who brings a wealth of experience and a strong promotion record, has expressed optimism about the team's current form and their readiness for the decisive challenge ahead. 

"Our preparations are going according to plan, and the players are showing great commitment and focus. We've worked hard all season, and now is the time to consolidate that effort and fight for our return to the NPFL. We are going to Asaba with belief and purpose," Maikaba emphatically declared.

Training sessions have focused on tactical refinement, physical conditioning, and match simulations to boost the team's sharpness. The club management, led by its Chairman, Engr Auwal Gotal, has been proactive in its support for the team's preparations for the crucial playoff.

Support has also poured in from the Bauchi State Government, football stakeholders, and the club's passionate fanbase, all united in the hope of seeing Wikki Tourists reclaim their spot in Nigeria's top-tier league.

As the Super Eight Playoff approaches, the atmosphere in camp is one of unity, focus, and quiet confidence. "We are not just going to participate; we are going to compete and win," Coach Maikaba added.

With a motivated squad, experienced leadership, and unwavering support from the Bauchi State Government, Wikki Tourists FC heads to Asaba poised for a strong challenge and a bold return to the top flight.

The Super Eight Playoff will kick off on Saturday, July 5th-12th, 2025, in Asaba, Delta State.
