#EndBadGovernace: CNG Urges Tinubu to Rethink on Nigerian Demands

Youth groups under the banner of Coalition of Northern Groups has urged President Bola Tinubu to have a rethink on Nigerian as hunger protest continues on day six 6 in some part of the country
The groups made the call during a press conference with journalists held in Bauchi the northeast Nigeria, citing the recent speech to Nigerian by Mr. president in the wake of #EndBadGovernance nationwide hunger protest which commenced on the 1st of August 2024,
The groups says the Nigerian youth who staged out to engage in the protest should be allowed to exercise their fundamental human rights under the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 constitution as amended, not to be confronted in all sorts of manners and approach.
They also maintained that the aimed of the Nigerian is to address the serious challenges of economic hardship faced by many in the country and made life so unbearable to the common man
However, the groups says, "we urged all protesters to embrace peace and dialogue as the means to achieve goals and objectives"
"While we called on the President to mend his stand concerning his speech delivered last Sunday which has failed to address key demands of the protesters"
According to the group some of the demands which includes the followings:
Exploration of crude oil activities in Kolmani that become domant after presidential inauguration 18 months of oil drilling activities at the site.
To end subsidy scam and reverse fuel price below N300 per liter.
To bring tertiary education fees back to their previous rate
To restore electricity tariff to affordable for the publics
To returned import duties to previous rate.
To reform EFCC, stabilized forex trade and exchange.as well as bringing the inflation rate down
The group maintained that, "we understand and acknowledge the right of the people, especially the youth to express their grievances and seek better future. Further more, "we deeply concerned that some protesters in other part of the country, were seen matching on the street waving Russian Flags, such action is not only inappropriate but also a threat to our democracy "
