From Classroom to Greatness: GG Nabordo Sends Off Future Women Leaders

In a vibrant display of pride, purpose, and progress, Government Girls College Nabordo in Bauchi State, celebrated its annual Speech and Prize-Giving Graduation Ceremony under the inspiring theme “ Educated Woman Is Gold.” 
The event, which took place in the school’s assembly hall, brought together students, parents, educators, alumni, and government officials to honor the academic and moral achievements of the graduating class of 2025.

The ceremony began with a warm welcome by the Principal,  Rakiya Hussaini who congratulated the students on their hard-earned success and urged them to carry forward the values of discipline, courage, and excellence.

She further stated that 200 girls are graduating with good grades just as the school faced with a myriad of challenges including lack of computer and digital library, School bus, as well as part of the perimeter fencing has collapsed, urging the ministry to look into these issues and act accordingly.

"Today is the celebration of your strength, resilience and determination many have fled along the way but you have worked hard to reach this milestone, you should be proud of yourself."

"As you leave here, remember that your choice matters your dreams are valid and your potentials are limitless, don't let anyone or anything hold you back in making your mark in the world."
“Today, you leave these walls not just as students, but as future women leaders ready to shape the world,” she said.

Special guest speaker Professor Zainab Bauchi, a notable advocate for girls’ education, delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the importance of self-worth and ambition.

Zainab described the teaching profession with as a woman telling the graduates that she came from a line of teachers and her generation too will be teachers and mentors.

"An educated woman is gold education is light, it is a compass that helps you find direction, education is a voice that allows you to speak."
"Thank you teachers for investing time energy and prayers to achieve their full potential, remain gold does not change, it doesn't diminished it only becomes more valuable as you are now you will become better as the years go by insha Allah."

“A woman with education is a nation with direction,” he stated. “Go out and lead with confidence, compassion, and character.” she enthused.

The ceremony’s cultural and entrepreneurial segment featured aproducts made by the girls and  an energetic Unity dance performance, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria.

In the highlight of the day, With tears of joy, the outgoing Head girl, thanked her teachers, classmates, and family in a heartfelt valedictory speech. “We came here with dreams,” she said. “Now, we step into the world with direction, purpose, and dignity.”

In his remarks the Commissioner of education Mohammed Lawan applauded the school for its commitment to nurturing intelligent, well-rounded girls.

Lawan who was  represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ali Babayo Gamawa, urged the graduates to be proud ambassadors of GG Nabordo and remain devoted to their personal and professional growth. He explained that he has noted the challenges faced and the ministry will act on it.

The day concluded with award presentations to students who excelled in various subjects, leadership roles, and extracurricular activities. Parents and guests expressed joy and gratitude for the school's impact on their daughters’ lives.

As the sun set over Nabordo, the celebration marked more than just the end of an academic journey,  it symbolized the beginning of greatness for a new generation of empowered young women.
